Nudges
During setup, drifty asks: What should Drifty do when you drift? Pick one. You can change it anytime in Settings.
Just record
Section titled “Just record”Track activity without alerts or automatic closing. The timeline still fills. Nothing interrupts the desktop.
Alert me
Section titled “Alert me”A gentle alert when drift continues. Companion shows the recovery card. This is the recommended starting point.
Automatic close
Section titled “Automatic close”Close the distracting tab or app after repeated drift. Unsaved work may be lost. This is a stricter session choice, not the default.
Extreme Nudge is opt-in. Instead of only showing the alarm, it can close a drift browser tab or quit a drift app, then return to the latest focus surface when it is available.
Optional desktop cat
Section titled “Optional desktop cat”The local cat is off by default. Turn it on in Settings → Companion & Pet or during onboarding. It has six coats and four sizes, and sits on window chrome or the menu bar while you work.
Its response follows the same nudge choice:

On automatic close there is a 3-second approach. Click or pet the cat to cancel the close and keep the tab or app open.
